Somatic therapy is a therapeutic approach that focuses on the study and exploration of the interdependence between the body and the mind. It considers that emotions, thoughts, and lived experiences are inscribed in the body.
The somatic therapist accompanies and facilitates the awareness and identification of the sensations and bodily tensions of their client. They will then help you to access your feelings more deeply and then to free yourself from your pains and imbalances from their physiological roots.
The goal of somatic coaching is to guide you through a relational process with your body in which you will be led to explore and understand your feelings, your body patterns, your emotional responses, and your behavioral modes.
This therapeutic approach may include exercises in body awareness, specific movements, exploratory dialogues, and various applied physical therapy techniques, depending on the case.
